In 2020 and 2022, I embarked on a mission to transform education in the Rwenzori Region of Uganda. With a deep commitment to empowering students with disabilities, I developed offline web applications tailored for deployment on offline servers in 10 rural schools. These servers were not just any technology; they were introduced to me by Beverly Carrick, the Executive Director of Embrace International Foundation, in late 2019. Her introduction to the offline server device sparked a profound interest in me, leading to my work on deploying the Ugandan curriculum onto these servers. The goal was clear: to enable self-directed learning on tablets connected to the offline server, creating an inclusive educational environment for students with disabilities.

Fast forward to the present, and I am thrilled to have reconnected with Embrace International Foundation under a new and equally impactful project. This time, I will be coordinating efforts to encourage teachers in these schools to embrace E-learning systems in their daily teaching practices. The opportunity to return to the field, where I witnessed firsthand the positive impact of the web applications I created, filled my heart with tears of joy. Seeing how these tools have transformed the lives of students was a touching and humbling experience.

This journey resonates deeply with my own educational experiences. Throughout my school life, I was unable to use a pen due to mobility difficulties in my muscles. Digital systems became my lifeline, enabling me to continue my education and pursue university studies. Now, I am excited to embark on a new chapter of digital transformation, where I can empower teachers with digital skills and inspire students with disabilities through inclusive E-learning.

As I step into this new role, my vision is clear: to create a future where digital systems are not just tools, but powerful enablers of education for all, regardless of physical limitations. I look forward to making a lasting impact on the lives of teachers and students, and to continuing this journey of inclusive education in Uganda.
